I am currently based in Chonburi due to business commitments, I have recently got married to my long term girlfriend and am due to renew my visa this month. I am going to get a Non O and extend it (my wife makes 40000 baht per month and pays tax) Before I used to go to Loas for my visa but that is a long way to travel.

Is there a embassy in Cambodia that will issue a Non O easily like Loas?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can do a change of visa status to a non-o at immigration.

If on 30 day visa exempt you must have 21 days remaining on your entry.

Thai immigration web site click on change visa and click on button that applies.

Also check the visa extension section for more info.

I only have 11 days left on my visa, I have been told it is very difficult to change my tourist visa to a Non O so it is easier to just leave the country one time and get a new visa.

As you are only looking for a single entry Non Imm O

you should not have any trouble in Penang, KL or Singapore.

Just make sure you have your marriage certificate,

a copy of your wifes ID card and household papers.

If she can join you it may help, but I do not believe it is essential.

If on a 60 day tourist visa you can still do it. Yes it's more difficult than having a non-o already.

Vientiane is also an option for Visa. It's not a bad place to visit and your wife will be able to help you get around if she goes with you. Thai is understood there by many, Not any problem to get a single non-o there.

Edit: If your wife does not have a passport she can enter Laos on a border pass.

If you prefer just do a border run and get a 30 day stamp. Immigration will convert that to a Non O Single for 2000 Baht.

You can then extend that for 1 year.

Or go to a consulate and get the Non O . Up to you.
