Are Thai Women Generally Attracted To Muscle In Men?

Indeed exercise is important and I would add rewarding in its own right.

But moderation in all things - Pumping oneself full of steroids is a tad too far - As I would say is the urge to go for the full 'big man down the gym set' - Tattoos I can understand, lycra shorts and a pony tale... I'm not getting that bit, but perhaps I'm not the target audience.

So anyone who goes to the gym is full of steroids?

This has gone to a simple question about whether THai women like men with muscles or not. Somehow this has degenerated into a diatriabe against anyone who lifts.

Guess what? The vast majority of men who exercise do not take steroids. The vast majority of men who lift weights regularly are not creating huge ripped bodies. And for the few who choose to go for the huge bulk, who cares? it is their choice. That does not make them cretins.

The vast majority of men (like me) who don't exercise don't take steroids either. The vast majority of men who don't lift weights are not creating huge ripped bodies either. For the few that go for the huge belly look, who cares? it is their choice. That does not make them cretins either. Unless they come from a nice Island in Greece.

At home, sorry, not gettting any at the moment, Mrs is pregnant. but that's another topic.

Congratulations, and best wishes for the forthcoming.

guesthouse lives in the middle of the dessert with a bunch of hippos in pajamas but what does he care - he's making the big bucks (lol) and can come to thailand anytime he wants (by closing his eyes and imaging! ) or better yet, by spending hours and hours on this website!

atleast his bcep must be pumped from practicing the national sport of rock throwing.

It would seem you have a rather vivid imagination yourself... a little disjointed but vivid for sure.

every time i read bkkjames posts i picture a chubby middle aged bald englishman slouched over an empty mug of beer talking to himself. not sure why.

That would depend on what time of the evening you are talking about. Come see me around 8pm tonight for a clearer picture.

Ah, of course it is their choice James. And I would never get in the way of that.

But the question is whether Thai women like men with muscles over men without. And some posters took that as an opportunity to blanket dam_n all men who set foot in a gym.

At the end of the day, a big bicep may get you in the door but if you don't know how to use it, sadly, your gal will go for a smaller better educated version with lasting appeal :o

To answer the OP as a Thai woman....

To be frank, the big tummy one more attracts me...

haha... I am odd, I know....

For me, the big tummy is more useful whilst I can feel more of softness and warmth when being hugged.

And also I am too lazy to the regularly working out, so no feeling guilty I will if my man is in the same way... :o

Oh, a better guy will probably always win out. That bicep is only one part of the equation, and probably quite a small part. A handsome guy, a rich guy, a built guy, a smart guy--if they are jerks, they will probably fail in the game of love.

But all else being equal, those attributes will stand a man in good stead.

um geeze ok, but I wasn't referring to bicep in illiteral terms, read between the lines. It's not how big your bicep is, its how many reps it can do.

Has anyone made a study about how many male regulars at a gym are gay? Honest question - okey? :o

Don't worry Toy, I am sure they can make room for one more if required.

In Thailand, gays tend not to hide their orientation to the same degree as they do in other countries. And at California Fitness, at least, many people tend to chat up others with whom they seemingly might have an interest.

Based on those two observations, I would say that a full 50% of the men at the Silom California Fitness may be gay, while at Pin Klao, maybe 10%?

Cobalt,

These pictures look a bit scary.

When I was in Miami A friend of me took me and my GF to a gay bar.

I was surprised to see many well trained guys like you looking for the same sex partner.

I have nothing against that, but was just astonished to see so many good looking guys (for girls) ending up with a another guy.

Anyway have a good time.

I'm not sure if anyone has carried out that particular study, but there certainly have been other studies of bodybuilders and what motivates them Big Men Feeling Small: Childhood Bullying Experience, Muscle Dysmorphia and other Mental Health Problems in Bodybuilders

Alex,

The picture I posted is of a friend of mine meeting his life long hero. I am not anywhere near that shape :o nor am I into the body building scene, nor am I into hanging around gyms looking to pick up men, girls maybe, as long as they are not stronger than me :D

I just thought I would post the pic as it may give any passing Thai girl something to comment on.

In my limited experience, most women are put off by that level of over development, mine reckons my little 'pirrow' is just right :D

Wow.

I was wondering what the strange noises I heard a little while ago were, now I know.

It was the sound of 300+ (male) TV members exhaling and letting their bellies hand out normally, coupled with the sounds of confining belts and buttons being undone !

But seriously (hahaha, right). True story from a couple years ago.

I once got dressed "to the nines", nice 3 piece suit and tie, shined shoes, fresh haircut. If I had of switched to a black bow-tie, I would have fit right in at a swank Monte Carlo casino.

Walked down Soi Diamond to Walking Street around 9 pm. Literally every girl in every bar I passed tried to latch on to me and drag me into her establishment. I was fortunate that I didn't have my jacket torn to shreds from the number of girls grabbing and pulling me every which way.

The next night. Same time, same route. Dressed in sandals, shorts and (sleeved) t-shirt. I barely got a 2nd glance from any of the girls in those very same bars !

Same muscles, same amount of $$ in my pocket, but huge difference in the reaction from the sweet, innocent farms girls I passed by.

I guess the lesson is (was), look like a poor slob bum, get treated like one. Look like a rich, classy kind of guy, and get attention lavished upon you like you are a rock star !

Traditionally in Thai society, men have been the rice-winners (thai version of bread-winners), so its how societies have functioned and continue to in upcountry Thailand. The men go out and do the work, women raise the kids.

You need to get yourself out and about in Thailand (actually anywhere on the planet) and learn who it is who is 'winning the the rice' 'raising the kids' and 'doing the work'.

That such horse sh1t arguments are made in a discussion about body builders does not surprise me.

actually, I HAVE been out and about in as rural a Thailand as one can get :o

but Im not sure what your point is......

although have to agree I wasnt totally 'on' topic ..... but as said .. any discussions that involves Thai women always seem to be heading to "thai women are all after money"

most times I try to ignore it, but every now and then I just cant.

besides I dont see you having any complaints about the off topic replies that talk about women wanting to grab money, when as you pointed out yourself, the thread is about body builders, yes?

:D

MiG16,

You seem pretty rational and straight-forward. So I put the question to you instead of relying on all the male farangs (at least I think most of the posters here are) who profess one thing or the other. All things being equal--sense of humor, abilty to provide security, looks, intelligence, etc--if three guys are alike in all else, but one is scrawny, one is fat, and one has a muscular swimmer's build, which would you prefer at first blush. In all other ways, the three are identical.

And to the guys who continue to denigrate men who exercise, be honest for a moment. Take away the hard work, take away the discipline needed to attain it, take away any medical problems which might affect your ability to exercise. If someone could wave a magic wand and painlessly give you the physique of let's say, Ian Thorpe (or even Matthew McConaughey, for that matter), wouldn't you take it?

Surely going to the gym beats playing snooker, and if one doesn't have enough will power to lift his sorry ass and get it into shape, it's also a problem.

The point is that being in shape and bodybuilding are not the same. I'm in shape, for example, round IS a shape.
