I read something about cricket in the Chang Mai Mail last week. Don't have it handy but if you pick up a copy you'll find it under their clubs listing.

I found the info from the Chaing Mai Mail, though it looks like its a school cricket club. I'll PM you their email. They may know if there's an informal group of cricketers around you could join.
