An Indian friend informed that she was told by visa run company that Indian nationals cannot get a tourist visa iissued n Vietniane, Penang, etcetc but would have to return to to India to apply. Anybody know the facts, because she wanted to try the Vientiane tourist visa route if possible.

Also has anyone ever driven to Nong Khai and done the whole tourist visa run thing. Is it economical versus flying or a visa minibus service?

Advice appreciated.

An Indian passport holder can get a Visa On Arrival. At the border checkpoint . 1,000 Baht and will only give 15 days stay.

Since visa run company said that Vientiane would not issue a tourist visa I would beleive them. But you can contact them yourself to confirm.

Thanks for the tips...it was primarily the double entry tourist visa she was interested in.....the other question is whether she could even get a Lao visa for short term entry at nong khai without a lot of hassle?

Same again. Probably the best idea would be to ring the Laos Embassy.
