Recommended Posts

Hi,

Im new to Phuket and I need some help. From January to March I will stay first time in Phuket and I`m looking for a house in the chalong area during this time. I know to drive around and take a look is the best way but maybe someone can give me some tip for nice places to stay or maybe a rental site from the internet. My range is 15 up to 30k and I`m looking for a fully furnished house or bungalow with sleeping- and living-room - nothing luxury but nice and comfortabel. Thanks a lot for every help!

You won't have much trouble finding house with 15-30k budget. Question is if anyone wants to rent for such short time period.

Try www.phuketgazette.net classified section, lots of rentals there.

Wow - a lot of answers. thanks everybody. houseinphuket.com looks great with many nice houses but they always write minimum rental is six months ore one year. does anyone knows if there is a chance for a three months contract? I see one house at 18 k I like and maybe when I pay a little bit more (25k) for a month they give a short term contract?

Called a guy earlier today about one of the rental units at The Sands condo complex, Nai Hairn Beach.

The guy is asking 45,000thb per month !!! For a unit that is boxed in all the way around, second floor, palm tree blocking the view from the deck.

Do these people know what you can get in Phuket for 45,000thb per month? Gee, a condo unit or a 3 bedroom house with a pool? Go figure....

But you have to consider whether it's a holiday rental period price !!! Sure you can get a nice villa for 45,000 baht/month ON A ONE YEAR CONTRACT. High season months ..... expensive.

Fully agree...

I rent my condo in low season for 40,000 and there is even waiting list. Great clients, not some cheapskate pain in the ass.

You get more troubles from customers renting 10k or less property, they always whining about something.

Also condo living has advantages.. Pool done, garden done, security done, water supply stable, etc etc..

Owning a house or villa theres near constant issues.. Or at least there has been in every house I have ever rented.

My only point is if you actually live here you can get a lot more than some guys crappy holiday condo for 45,000.

P.S.-

At KL mart is an ad on their window for a 3 bedroom brand spanking new home for rent in Land and House Chalong (24hr security, gym, pool, recreation area) for 25,000 per month. Only one month deposit.

I'd say that beats the hel_l out of a boxed in by farty neighbors condo scenario any day of the week. Especially at 40K....

That is strangely the standard dusty piece of road that leads to any house in Thailand. I also do not understand how a house can be near the road, and the owner will pave part of their front road with gravel, but leave a strip of sand beofre the road.

And I am a cheapskate.

Was brought to see some errr....chalets at Koh Sirey. From the road, you cant see the row of chalets and you walk thru some twist and turns on the muddy path, to find the chalets standing on gravel, about 7 units in a row.

All with no furnitures or amenities like a washing machine. The chalets are raise little thai houses with attached bathrooms. No heaters and the bathroom are opened at the back to see the rest of the backs of zinc roof terrace houses. The bathroom is not adequately covered and I myself, a female dont fancy bathing for all to see!

The chalets looks charming, and might do better with paved paths and lots of plants & discreet garden lights.

At least throw in two single beds, mattress & mosquito nets! And try staginng some stone bences and tables so some can dine out in the stars!

And oh......they dont even have space for a wardrobe & tv. For 3000 baht a month rental. Its a cheap deal, but I couldnt stomach it.

Maybe if I buy over that 'establishment', I can try to improve it.

YIKES Viscious Kitty, 3000thb a month?

Really you won't find anything decent for under 10,000. I have a house next door to me that has been empty quite awhile, Thai style two level, that I think you could get for 10,000. It would be much nicer than a 3000thb hovel, that's for sure.

PM me if that's in your price range and you want to look at it.

Cheers, HB
