I would like to visit my newborn daughter in Bangkok with a 1 year multi Non-Immigrant Visa For the purpose of visiting family (Type “O”). I Have never applied for this type of visa before. Is applying in Los Angeles a bad Idea? I only have copies of our daughters birth certificate(My name is on it), Fiancee's Thailand ID card and Passport. My Fiancee and I wish to marry here in the US. I want to go to bangkok on this visa to help with a K1 visa for the US. Is applying in Los Angeles a bad Idea? Do they issue this type of visa for this reason? Thanks for any help on this. I am 38 years old.

Many reports from Americans that LA would not be first choice.

Many recommend Houston. Can apply by post.

Contact details on here.

I can apply by post there. I live near Los Angeles, would they think that was strange? I still am not sure if I can get this visa with what I have. Thanks for the advice.

Check with the LA consulate to see what they require. From info your original post I think you have everything you need already. Not sure if they wil give you a multiple entry though.

Have you checked into the entire process for the K1 visa. You might have a problem going that route since you already have a child.

For help on your K1 I suggest that you start another topic on the visas and migration to other countries forum.

I hope, I will not have a problem about the K1. I waited to get married so I would not have to wait for the K3 visa, It takes alot longer. I just wanted to get the US passport for my Daughter and then the K1. On the K1 visa form, it says do not list child that is a US citizen. I was going to get her passport and birth aboard birth on this visa. thanks for any help.
