Renewal Of Passport And Visa Status

Featured Replies

In my old passport I had either one or two visa exemption stamps. In theory if one renews a passport and then does a border hop- will the immigration officials have a record, of their own, as to what my status is for 90 days of exemption stamps?

Do I need to be 100% certain of whether it was one or two, for example, that I have already had? I know I can just find out by doing it, as a third is OK anyway, and they will presumably tell me. But I want to check.

I have the option to do the tourist visa double entry instead, but if I no longer have the first passport and a blank new one, will they already know or will they base it on the passport only?

Additionally having renewed my passport, do I have to do something special being on a visa exempt stamp, to put in my new blank passport?

Thanks..

With your new passport you have to go to immigration so they can transfer your stamp (and record your new passport number). This doesn't take long and is free.
