12go Is A No Go?

Featured Replies

I was trying to book a flight online earlier and tried to use the 12go site. I was somewhat surprised to get this message...

September, 12, 2008 Dear Valued Passengers

Due to the recent uncertainty of Thai political situation, please be informed that One Two Go scheduled services for all domestic destinations will be resumed at later date than originally plan on 15th September, 2008.

Thank you for your kind understanding

Regards,

One-Two-Go Airlines.

Sorry if it has been posted already but I never noticed it.

I guess I can understand why this post was moved from general topic to here but.. I wasn't asking for offering travel advice. The message I recieved from trying to book says political unrest in Thailand. That isn't regional and isn't just about traavel in Thailand. An airline feels strong enough to give such a warning. there is no travel involved with my first post because on that airline it isn't possible because of political unrest.

I feel my post belongs where more people can see it. I didn't say one word about travel.

"Uncertainty of Thai political situation" as a reason for not resuming operations is a worked excuse on the part of One-Two-Go. You do know why they suspended operations in the first place, don't you?

No I don't. All I know is I got that message when i tried to book through them tonight.

You might want to try Googling "1-2"Go" and read up on how their license got yanked, then draw your own conclusions as to why they're not back in the air yet (and whether you would want to fly with them even if they were).

I know they had a crash awhile back. It has anything to do with that?

Thanks for the link. Google didn't reveal obvious results for me. Now I know. Wow they are exploiting the political situation openly over their own problems. I am surprised the government hasn't closed their website. It doesn't look good for people considering Thailand and stumble on to that. Anway thanks.

Interestingly, while waiting for my flight out at Swampy yesterday-morning, I spotted a 1-2-Go MD land & taxi past the still-closed due-to-cracks taxiway. Hope they have maintained that particular plane, so it is still safe to fly, as it is passing over our heads !

Perhaps it was a positioning-flight, or sub-charter for another airline, or has been leased elsewhere ?

When their operating license was initially yanked in July, One-Two-Go tried to spin it such that they were ceasing operations due to the high cost of fuel. I don't honestly believe in that instance, or in the current one you quote, that One-Two-Go is actually fooling many though.

I would rather walk than use 1,2 ..Die/Orient Thai. Read the pro pilots forum, www.pprune.org.uk. They are another accident waiting to happen.

Just got an email from 1-2-Go, they now plan to restart on 5th December, offering free Mama noodles on all flights, slurp. :o

I'd rather a free parachute. :D
