I have the problem that I have only ONE fixed installed telephone number (02-) in my home. I need another number for fax. I do not want to use one number for telephone AND fax. But TOT cannot provide another number for the time being (not enough capacity / installed cables in our area).

Is it possible to get a (02-) DID number for fax, e.g. from CAT Telephone. I know that CAT provides numbers, but who provides the service with the permanent Internet, etc... Or any other solution? The aim: Any 02- number which I can use for fax.

Don't understand why you need a separate number for your FAX? All modern fax machines automatically detect the fax tone and answer a fax and if they do not sense the fax tone, will ring as a regular phone.

If on the other hand you are going to use the fax that much that you cannot tie up the regular phone you do have a problem, since phone lines (numbers) are difficult to get in Thailand.

Since you mention 02 you appear to be in BKK.

If so, have you tried to get a line from True? They still have lines available in some areas.

Yes, I need from the capacity two separate numbers. I use now telephone and fax with one number, and customers are complaining.

So, is there a possibility with DID Number?

Are you asking for a VOIP number that goes through your internet connection, or just another line? Usually the term DID would refer to ISDN or PRI service and not POTS lines, where you have multiple number appearances on far fewer actual lines.

If you are thinking the VOIP route, you might be better off with a hosted FAX service where the pages are emailed to you as PDFs; the compression on VOIP has been known to cause problems with fax machines.

@tjo oh tjim

It must NOT be a DID, just a number. What is POTS? Something with "splitting" the line?

Can you explain please? This sounds like a way...

Thanks
