does anyone know what it takes to get a Thai wife a visa to Monaco to go to Monte Carlo? we also plan to visit Italy and France. Are all three covered by Schegen (sp?) visa?

Monaco has no borders with France. Before you realize you're IN Monaco and OUT again if you take the wrong road :o

Yes, you can travel to Monaco if you have a Schengen visa and Italy is just a stone's throw away also and yes, you can visit Italy; also no borders with France with passport controls etc.

There are only passport checks with the Swiss borders of France, Italy, Austria and Germany, but if you have a Schengen Visa you can visit Switzerland as well (including another small state/country: Liechtenstein, and before I forget: San Marino in Italy and Vatican City-State in Rome as well.

Careful with Switzerland, you NEED a MULTI or at least a TWO entries Shengen visa or you with have to leave Switzerland by air as the bordering Shengen countries will not allow you back in with a single entry Shengen visa

If you are planning to stay in Monaco and have a relative there, you need a certificat d'hebergement from te lease holder, owner or renter...You get this from the Mairie at Monacoville(Le Rocher)....Then you must apply for a visa at the French Embassy in Bangkok. If you are just travelling around you need to show hotel reservations and a lot more requirements which you can find on the French Embassy website. Bon sejour et bonne chance(pleasant stay and good luck!)

when applying for a schengen visa, do you have to do so in the country you will visit predominately? the reason i ask is because my wife read on another forum that the french embassy has a 2 month waiting list for schengen visa applications? can anyone confirm or deny this rumor? ty.
