hi.

im travelling to thailand this dec/jan... the perpose of my trip is to see family and find work, I am an Air conditioning engineer currently based in UK. i am looking to work for an AC firm in BKK.

Basically i just need some help in explaining the process i need to go through... as i dont yet have a job over there, but will hopefully find one while im out there. then i plan to travel home to the UK and sort out all the required paper work.

So what do i need to do??

get a letter from my new employer stating that they are going to employ me, (for the question on visa application forum, perpose of stay)

Do i send my passport to the thai embassy or a photocopy of it?

this is really confusing me...i need help...

thanx guys...hope to hear from you soon.

Assuming you can find yourself a job, the company will give you a heap of company paper work + a letter and you submit this and your passport to the Thai embassy, you cant just send a copy of your passport as you need to get a Non-imm B visa put in your passport, once you get your passport back you can travel to Thailand and start work and your work permit will turn up a while later from the labour department.

You can apply for a non-immigrant O visa based on visiting family from the consulate in Hull. With this you can travel to Thailand and find work and apply for a WP.

Yup ^^^ concur on this, by far the easiest route as you have no job yet.

Minimal requirements and you can do it by post, check their website http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/ , they're pretty good at answering emails and the phone too :o
