Dtac will close head office indefinitely

The Total Access Communication (Dtac) announced Thursday that the Chai Building or its head office will be closed indefinitely and its staff will be allowed to work from home.

The Dtac reasoned in its press release that it feared for safety of its staff after leaders of the Democratic Alliance Against Dictorship alleged that dtac financed protests by the People's Alliance for Democracy.

The Dtac announced in its press release that it had nothing to do with the political conflicts.

ThaiBev is rumoured to financially support PAD, too - that's why Chamlong didn't say a word when they were readying for the latest SET listing.

Can reds boycott Beer Chang?

That looks like Bangkok Bank, DTAC and ThaiBev. Lets wait for the denial!

Just seen the most scathing report on the PAD to date and it was on Al Jazeera. Scathing of the PAD and their elitist aims it set out their policies as dictated to their Journalist.

They are threatening to use human shields.

Tonight I will be drinking Beer Chang in solidarity with the PAD. :o

Maybe that's why the paid thugs in Sanam Luang that attacked the PAD a month ago were given Leo instead of Chang.

Yes whilst they are still solvent.

The FA will have the lot of em out of their if they are involved in this kind of Coup mongering.

They do have standards in the west fortunataly and Thaibev and the rest are going to have to live up to those western standards if they want to continue doing business there. There are a couple of million foriengers affected by ruined holidays from all over the world. They are going to be looking for any companies that may have financial assets in the west to grasp. Put simply, they will want to sue the arse off them and with the aid of the internet they will be after em.. wooooooooooooooo

Sponsoring Fascist Coups is not what is expected of em... unlesss they want to just concentrate on the Thai market. And as they are listed in Singapore they are very exposed.

Anyway, a list of the lot of em is about to be published so a lot of brown trousers in the "educated business class Thai" community this week.

source?

beer bar or sauna gossip?

grrr.

that happen more and more often in the last few days, some people quoting news but don't give a link to it or name their media source.

it's enervierung to read through such topics. and looks like some peolple will never learn it.

it suggest a collect penalty point sytem. one get one point if he forget to post a link or name the source. or if nothing more than sauna gossip.

i am sure someone from the Nerd section can make a small flash tutorial that explains. how to "insert link"

if the member fail again and collect enough points, he will get send over to the jokes forum or a sandbox for dummies. let's say for 2 days the first time (second time full point - one day more) there can the member practise, practise, practise and practise how to use the "insert link button " and have to play the tutorial 3 times per day. after the penalty is over he is only allowed to come back to the news forum if he can beat the tutorial special level. a small game, same as the trainings level but with a time limit. the member is given only 15 minutes for the task. in those 15 minutes the member must send two entriess to a thread in that flash simulation. both entries must contain a link. the member can use whatever technique he wants and practise before -. insert link button, Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V, mouse.

the time frame of 15 minutes gives the member enough time for a little "degree" ceremony and a happy moment celebration. leaving the stupid jokes or sandbox for dummies forum. 15 minutes should be plenty time to walk over to the frigde and grab a Chang and return to place a link in the second entry and win that special level in the flash tutorial.

after the member spend his 5th penalty time in the sandbox, the first chang beer bottle will be shown next to his avatar. the 6th time the 2nd chang bottle. the member can collect them, but it's of course not recommended to do so. the main purpose of the chang bottle points will be to indicate other newsforum visitors -lots of bar talk or just a dummie.

penalty points and chang bottle points will expire after a certain time. penalty time should not raise after the second trip. 3 days in the joke forum is enough pain.

a similar system would maybe good for the how-not-to-bring-the-quote-tags-in-a-mess lessons. no flash tutorial needed, spend playtime in the sand box. a self learning task. 1. read the sticky how-not-to-bring-the-quote-tags-in-a-mess-for dummies entry 2. play. and practise, practise, practise and practise

member can collect points with any form of mess the quote up. using other font colour to add own text between the line of a quote will get you double points. if the member become notorious for this, the Mods can give up to x+n points for it. same goes for notoriuos full quoter.

1st chang can after 5th offence. the main purpose of the chang can points will be to indicate other newsforum visitors -Achtung cause facepalm.

no special game level after end of penalty time. but one level every day. number of level=number of penalty days. next level will be be unlocked 24+h later. to ensure the convict comes daily to the sandbox if he wish a fast return. the game, solve an difficult and annoying shredder jigsaw. the solution will reveal amessage for the convict written in SGT. HARTMANN (Full Metal Jacket) style. to finish the level the text have to be copied twice.(use keyboard). for level5 and higher the player have also match the fonts styles , letter size and colour of the original. above level 8, no more help from a WYSIWYG editor.

for the SGT. HARTMANN sound a like messages could be a creative writing thread in the farang pub forum. if that doesn't work. force the convict to waste his time with text taken from the joke forum.

penalty points and chang can points will expire after a certain time (can stay2 times longer than bottles). penalty time will raise one additional day with every offence. notorious mess up the quote offender need practise.

it will not be a endless stack up of doing-sandbox-time. an offence will get cleared of your records after a certain time.

I've often wondered which of Thailand's established companies were helping fund PAD. Maybe the companies named are free of guilt, but I have a gut feeling that there are financial interests that intend to profit from the financial meltdown that will soon occur.

Think about it. Who benefits if heavily financed companies can't service their debts and either lose assets through repossession or forced deep discount sales. Who are the folks with the large amounts of liquidity that can gobble up those assets.

A certain ex media-magnate, who sold out a couple of years ago, and has been funding this chaotic government ? But that would be totally corrupt & cynical & immoral and ... erm erm. :o

A smart move for Thaksin would be to fuel long term unrest. Force the price of Thai companies and banks down the wait for the Elite to organise a coup to make the Baht to tank. In this scenario his money that is out of the country increases dramatically and he is back at the top of the pile.

The "educated"sic Business elite here is then shafted again because they are too old and outdated to cope with the world as it is. Let Thaksin back in whilst they are trying to drag Thailand through a time warp to 50 years ago.

Should he do this ? or has he already done it :o:D:D surely not!

It has been well established that Sondhi has no money, so if you are implying that he is funding the PAD you couldn't farther off base.

With Thaksin and the PPP, on the other hand ...

As for the morality, there would be nothing corrupt or cynical at all about using private funds, where available, to fund a civil movement. Happens all the time, all over the world.

Everton have launched their new kit for the 2008/09 campaign, but they have implemented a few changes to the junior edition of the shirts.

Everton have decided to remove their shirt sponsors’ logo, Chang, from the junior shirts, due to the company being an alcoholic drink producer.

This was recommended by the Portman Group which seeks to achieve social responsibility in the alcoholic drink production sector.

Having the logo on the junior kits may directly promote alcoholic drinks with the younger generations, which is illegal.

With this move, social responsibility is entered into the equation and Chang beer is only promoted to adult supporters of Everton FC. :D

The sad truth is everyone here probably knows at least someone financing the PAD. They are normal people, office workers, their parents, their grandparents and siblings.

Ask around you'll be surprised at how many people that you know, have personally donated money to the PAD.

What next will people start naming the companies that support the PPP so the other half of the country can boycott them? It all smacks of desperation.

Well if you named all the people who voted for PPP first, that is fair play. The PPP is not a Fascist Party envoking a coup and rule by Elite. There is much more taste in the world for Fascism.

For my part, I'll name all the people in the Country who voted for Sondhi.

Erm help me out guys, its slipped my mind.

DTAC seem keen to distance themselves. I'll post what Novotel say. EDIT ACCOR it turns out to be a massive french company. I'm just letting know about the class action possiblities!
