Like many others I have had a cancelled flight. I was meant to be going from Phuket to Bangkok on Bangkok airways then Bankok to Manchester on Ethiad airways via Abu Dhabi.

Simply I don't know what to do. I'm tempted to get a bus to Kuala Lumpur then Kuala Lumpur to Abu Dhabi then to Manchester?

Will I have to get different tickets? Will I get my money back? If Bangkok opens can I turn up and get on the flight I want with my tickets?

I just want to get home but just don't know the quickest, easiest and cheapest way to do so.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Maybe best to sit put for a couple of days mate, I am heading to Phuket in a few days and couldnt imagine this dragging on to much longer, the country is being crippled by it and I couldnt see things being allowed to carry on, after all they do have police that are supposed to maintain order... Depends on how urgently you need to leave I guess.. but good luck... Actually...isnt there flights out of Phuket...like Silkair to Singapore?

From the Suva airport closed thread;

Please can anyone help me.

My parents are supposed to be traveling with Etihad tomorrow morning and obviously can't fly!

Is there anyone else on here who is supposed to be traveling with them with any updates

Thanks

See this post in another thread:

for your information , flights leaving from U-tapao are for the people who ALREADY had a ticket and were stranded on the first night , then they will fly the people stranded on the second day and so on.... if you have a ticket , just wait your turn , provided the airline you flied in with made arrangement to fly from there.

a thai friend of mine who works and lives in france just came back from etihad offices , they offer the hotel tonight and transfer to U-tapao for tomorrow's flight to abu dhabi for the people who missed the 8:40 am flight on november 26. She went there 90 minutes ago and is already booked on tomorrow's flight.

People have to go to their airline office and let the airline know they are ready to go.

Etihad will allow you to travel from Singapore or KL if there are seats, so it is a question of a train or bus down to KL I think. You will get your money back or can use the tickets later IF you bought them over here. Problem obviously is getting out of Phuket as well by air. We consider and hope it highly unlikely that political actions will spread to the tourist mecca of Thailand.
