Trying to explore CM nightlife and a little bit dissapointed. WHere are all the go-go's and places like that? Haven't seen anything yet except of bars filled with sleepy farangs sipping beer.

ANyway where are the good places to pick up a THai girl in CM?

The main red-light area nowadays is tucked away on Loi Kroh Road which runs east from the eastern stretch of the moat, south of Thapae Road. If walking south from Thapae Road/Thapae Gate (I assume you know this road? The main road running into the centre of Chiang Mai to Thapae Gate), keep to the road outside the moat and you will meet the junction with Loi Kroh Road after about 250m where there will be a bunch of girlie bars. Turn left here and there are bars either side. Carry on down this road for another 250m or so and you'll see the entrance to the entertainment area with Thai boxing etc on your right, before you go over the canal, and there are dozens of the type of bar you're after in there. For more action, keep heading up Loi Kroh Road to the Night Bazaar and turn left. On the left after about a 5-minute walk are a couple of other bar areas that are usually filled with katoeys if you're into that?

Arrived back today. had a few drinks in the beer bar area, not bad, there is a gogo called spotlight or something but we did'nt go in.

Lovely city, siht drivers and idiotic people that don't like Harley Davidsons, too many backpackers also.

Some great spots in Chiang Mai, but you have to know the place. It's all getting tucked away on orders of the PM, no doubt.
