It's a marvellous word, isn't it? Multi-functional and has a ring that makes it fit into everyday Soapy conversation.

Anyway this little topic is more about the apparent inconsistencies in the moderation of words and what is considered obscene. How ludicrous is it to think that '<deleted>' is OK when "xxxx" is not, considering both are known to refer to copulation and in any context you can imagine the use of either will mean exactly the same thing as the other version? What: because one isn't spelt like 'that word' it's OK, even though we ALL know what the word is?

I've seen '<deleted>' allowed while "xxxx" isn't, 'wnaker' is OK while "xxxx" isn't, and the list is endless. How the ###### can one be OK and the other rejected when BOTH are the same thing with one being misspelt? It's bloody childish and makes this place look seriously silly.

Mind you: I like silly but only to a certain extent and I think this is a bit too far.

it might be silly but they are the rules we agreed to by signing on.

###### ###### yourself. You ###### Aussies think you're the only ######'s who shower - ###### stupid. Maybe you should take a ###### sniff under your ###### armpits one day. ###### ######.

Hmm, how many #'s ? 54 - not bad! :o

You DO realise that this is a discriminatory policy, favouring a minority of the population? Anyone with dyslexia can swear like a trooper and get away with it.

Tain't fair and you know it!

excellent point dickie, I will bring this up with admin and get them to add to the rules a new clause, perhaps something like this..."members will be banned if they use dyslexic vulgar words, you have been warned" well I am not so <deleted> eloquent but I am sure huski can come up with something a little less full of p1ss.

:o

Wasn't this subject brought up in the Moderator's forum? Questions were raised about the list of words that are banned - is it modifiable by admins, moderators or just by Invision? If we could add words to the list, then we wouldn't have a problem. Every other ******** word would be ******** out by ********* asterisks. :o

Should be a text file that sits in the invision directory somewhere.

You can edit it normally.

or it's a field in the database.

There is talk about a BAD WORD list in the invisionboards forums but haven't found were it's located yet.

I'm sure we (mods, that is) don't have access to it or editing rights. Maybe George or Huski do. Maybe someone can ask Invision?

Fcukin' h3ll... please don't take away my fun?!? :D:D:o

So long as your wife hasn't got a knife in her hand, dave. :o

Isn't this forum moderated enough????

You don't know moderation until you hit the Bearpit - although things have gotten better as of late... :o
