Now that we are in pattaya, we have more spare time, as we are not working over here, and one of the things we were interested in joining was Rotary. We have been invited and have been to the Pattaya meeting, but a lot of it is in Thai which we do not understand, so it was rather boring. However, there were two visitors there this week who had also visited Jomtien and said that that was a fabulous meeting. Of course you can only go by invitation, so ........

Is Thailand different from the UK as you certainly don't need invitation to go to UK meetings, Fellowship etc

I am a member of the Rotary Club of Jomtien Pattaya. We meet every Wednesday at 6:30pm for drink and fellowship with the formal part at 7:00pm in the Rotary Room, 2nd Floor, Royal Cliff Grand (That is the tall tower block of the Royal Cliff Resort.) (optional food menu).

While we may meet in luxurius surrounding, where we pay for our food and drinks, we also do a great deal for the local community. Run a search on Pattaya Mail website to see some of these things.

We have just finished installing Clean Water Sytems in 22 rural schools in the Pattaya, Chonburi and Rayong areas, with the help of the Rotary Club of the Eastern Seaboard and local clubs in those areas.

We raise the money required for this work through fundraisers , but cannot say any more , as it would break Forum Rules. (Rule 7 "... similar solicitations ... ")
