Just wanted to relate my experience to everyone here as I have been fortunate to receive so much great information in the past.

I am a US citizen who recently married a Thai National. We returned from our honeymoon on November 30th, and I entered the country on a 30 day, visa-exempt stamp.

Today I went to Suan Plu Immigration in Bangkok, Room 303.

I presented form TM 87, Application for Visa along with originals and copies of the following:

1 - 4x6cm photo

Passport

Copy of Entry Stamp

Marriage Registration

Marriage Registration Record ( Kor.ror.2)

Household Registration of Thai Wife

Identification Card of Thai Wife

And of course, my wife ;-)

The gentleman processing my application was very pleasant. The whole visit took about 20 minutes.

I have to return next Friday, the 12th to pick-up my 90 day Non-O Visa. 61 days following, I can apply for the 1 year extension, also at Suan Plu.

Feel free to email me if anyone has any questions.

Thanks!!

Marc

Yes. That's the way it works. When you apply for your years extension you will be given a 30 day under consideration stamp. You go back in a month and get the remaining 11 months.
