Your worst food poisoning?
Twice with oysters. First time, intentional. Second time, by mistake. Once by under cooked shellfish, some kind of sea snail. Cipro worked all 3 times. Sometimes that is all the pharmacies stock. -

Crime Fugitive Arrested For 2006 Murder of Police Cadet
Picture courtesy of CIB. A man wanted for the 2006 murder of a police cadet has been arrested after nearly two decades on the run, authorities confirmed. Officers from The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), in coordination with the Crime Suppression Division (CSD), apprehended 43-year-old Mr Natthawut, at a residence in Thoeng District, Chiang Rai Province. He faces charges of murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Royal Police Cadet in Bangkok nearly 19 years ago. The incident occurred in 2006 when Police Cadet Thanawat was dining with friends. A nearby group of intoxicated men, including the suspect, began causing a disturbance by throwing drinking glasses on the floor. When Cadet Thanawat intervened to caution them, a heated argument broke out. Mr Natthawut allegedly drew a knife and stabbed the cadet in the right side of the torso. Thanawat later died from his injuries. While other suspects were arrested and prosecuted at the time, Mr Natthawut managed to evade capture and remained a fugitive for almost two decades. Recently, investigators received intelligence that the suspect had been living quietly in Chiang Rai Province. Armed with a search warrant and arrest warrant, officers moved in and detained Mr Natthawut without incident. He has since been transferred to Udomsuk Police Station in Bangkok for further legal proceedings. The arrest operation was conducted under the direction of Police Lieutenant General Jiraphop Bhuridej, Commissioner of the CIB; Police Major General Witiya Sriprasertphap, Commander of the CSD; and Police Colonel Ekkasit Pansita, Superintendent of Subdivision 4, CSD. 3 Men Arrested with Arsenal of Firearms Ahead of Planned Attack at Fruit Festival in Sisaket
Pictures courtesy of Khaosod. Police in Khun Han District, Sisaket have arrested three men in possession of multiple firearms and over 100 rounds of ammunition, allegedly intended for a violent attack against rivals at a local fruit festival. District Chief Mr Pavit Rattawan, along with Pol. Col. Noppadon Thuntaweesinsak, Superintendent of Khun Han Police Station, and a coordinated team from the local investigative unit, administrative officers, volunteer defence corps and the Suranaree military task force, led the operation. The suspects, Mr Charoenchai 30, Mr Srin 29, and Mr Korakot 29, were apprehended in a white, modified four-door pickup truck with Chonburi licence plates, parked outside the Khun Han District Office. Seized from the vehicle were two pistols (one 11mm and one 9mm), two modified BB gun revolvers and a large quantity of ammunition: 15 rounds of 11mm, 35 rounds of 9mm, and 32 rounds of .38 calibre. Upon interrogation, the suspects allegedly admitted that the weapons and ammunition were concealed in the truck with the intent to use them against a rival group expected to attend the traditional fruit festival held at the town’s sports field. Officers are now examining whether the seized weapons had previously been used in any criminal activity. The suspects have initially been charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and carrying weapons in public without permission or justified cause, including bringing them to a public gathering. All three individuals and the confiscated items have been transferred to Khun Han Police Station for further legal proceedings. Adapted by Asean Now from Khaosod 2025-07-07
