Looking For A Waterproof Mp3 Player

I think the topic title says it all :o

Does anyone know where to buy a waterproof mp3 players&earplugs ?

For the player: Why not take one of those watertight cylindric moneyboxes people have hanging around their neck? Drill a whole for the cable of the speaker/earphone and seal it later with hot glue. Leave enough cable inside the box to plug/unplug comfortably. For the earphone I got no idea except wrapping in a condom or something like that.

I swim a lot. I'm in the pool twice a week and do a long ocean swim once a week.

I do the Laguna Phuket Triathlon every year (relay swim 3 yrs running now) and do the Triballistic Triathlon races.

IMHO this is the finest underwater MP3 player on the market. I use it every time I swim.

The SwiMP3 v2 underwater MP3 player is an incredible audio experience. Imagine listening to hours of your own music during your swim workout. The SwiMP3's innovative sound transfer technology offers exception underwater sound quality. Standard players rely on the transmission of sound through air or water causing the swimmer to perceive only muffled noise. The SwiMP3 uses bone conduction - the direct transfer of sound vibrations from the cheek bone to the inner ear - to provide the swimmer with exceptional sound clarity. The SwiMP3 is fully waterproof and can be used with all the competitive swim strokes.

How Does It Work?

The new SwiMP3 is revolutionary in that it relies on bone conduction of sound. When the device is placed on any bones of the skull (i.e. the cheek bones or the mastoid tip) it leads to vibration of the fluid in the inner ear. Thus swimmers can enjoy clarity of sound with the SwiMP3 device that was never before possible. Bone conduction hearing is a safe, well-established hearing mechanism in humans that the SwiMP3 player leverages to enhance aquatic activity. Finis's application of the technology brings an entirely new level of experience to swimmers, either while working out or taking a leisurely swim.

Bone conduction hearing is essentially an ancient sensory capability that the new SwiMP3 leverages to enhance the experience of swimmers, triathletes, surfers, synchronized swimmers and anyone involved in general water activities. It is a safe, proven technology that the SwiMP3 offers to the wide audience of aquatic athletes.

Yes I have seen someone swimming with one of those Swimp3's, you just jogged my memory.

Kinda expensive though!

:o

yes they are expensive when compared on a $/MB ratio.

But they are the only ones around that do what they do. And I probably don't need 8GB for swimming unless I'm doing the English channel.

I believe mine have either 256MB or 512MB in them and I never swim long enough in one session to cycle through all the songs. ( I do long swims too, about an hour each session) also how much music do you need to shove on to a device with out a display?

For the design, quality and the amount of use I'm getting out of them I'm very happy with the unit and consider it money well spent.

My SwiMP3 for the water, My shuffle (2nd Gen) for the gym, and my iPod for the Car, I'm all set.

here's a few other links if you're not satisfied with the SwiMP3 design/cost

All of the rest of these use water prof ear buds. I've never used them so I don't know how they feel or if they get yanked out by water flow and movement.
