I was looking to move in Thailand for winter time staying ...no need to say why :wai: ...winters here in this part of Europe (Romania) can be very long and I'm not having the best time of my life with this cold in the last time. From what I read I understand that are some changes re. THAI VISA . Thai embassy from here gives me now only 2 months tourist visa :D Kindly ask you to tell me a solution for 5 or 6 months living there. Is this Vis RUN suitable for me as a romanian or is just for specific nationalities? :D

Thank you for any helpful answer :D and keep the good work with this Forum :o ...is a real pleasure to be here reading your topics :D

Why did you post 2 topics. The following is a copy of my reply on your other topic.

If you get a tourist visa good for 60 days it can be extended for 30 days at immigration. If it is a 2 entry visa then you would only need to do a border run and use the 2nd entry and then repeat the 60 + 30.

If a single you could then do a visa run to a nearby consulate and get another tourist visa when the 90 days is over.

Either way would give you a total of about 6 months.

The latest changes made no change to the tourist visa rules.

Have you checked with the Thai consulate to see if they will give you a 2 entry tourist visa?

You have to leave Thailand to get another visa at a nearby Thai consulate. That can be Vientiane Laos, Penang Malaysia and others.

I will check this . thank you. but I think is only 2 months single entry tourist visa ...and the other options are:

Non-Immigrant (3 month Single Entry)

Category = F Purpose = To perform official duties

Non-Immigrant (1 Year Multiple Entries)

Category = B Purpose = To conduct business/to work

Non-Immigrant (3 Year Multiple Entries)

Category = ED Purpose = To study, to come on a work study tour or observation tour, to participate in projects or seminars, to attend a conference or training course, to study as a foreign Buddhist monk

your advice to get another visa at a nearby Thai consulate can be a sure solution in this case? or I have to try it and see what answer they give?

Do check with the consulate about a 2 entry visa. It will be no problem getting another tourist visa.

Just checked the website for the embassy and under tourist visa it says the fee is 25 euro/entry. That to me is a good indication that they will do a visa with more than one entry. Link: http://www.thaiembassy.ro/visa_tourist.html

I will do that and I hope will be ok. Thank you again ubonjoe!
