Avast Anti-virus Is Blocking My Internet Connection

I am in Pattaya and using B-TV's Hi-Net cable internet service (which is great by the way) and downloaded and installed with the default settings Avast's anti-virus program. When I rebooted up after the install and tried to connect to the internet service, I got a log-on error message on the Windows network connections box. I looked around in Avasts settings and found one for "connections" and set it for "always connected to the internet." Still, no go.

I was using the service fine with Avira and AVG antivirus programs...anyone know why Avast is blocking my connection and how to unblock it?

I know it is Avast causing the problem because when I un-installed the program, all was fine again (I could post this message :o ). Neither the AVG or Avira programs required any special settings to work with my cable internet connection.

Maybe Avast block your connection about an intruder connection from the Internet?!

Maybe you download NA Detector for to analyze the Internet traffic if Avast isn't running to find out what programs pp. is connecting to your computer from the Internet. You can download NA Detector from HERE.

hope that helps.

Cheers.

I never used Avast but mostly antivirus softwares come with built-in firewall. If so in case of avast, disabling only firewall will solve the problem. Check your processes (CTR+ALT+DEL) if any firewal, other then windows own, running so stop it.

all the best!
