It is the standard Nigerian bank money scam with a real estate twist. There is no money except what you will be asked to put up to facilitate the process in some way. You would think people would learn but I know two reasonable people in the past five years who have started the process however they finally realized what they were doing and bailed. Greed is a curious think.

A friend asked me to represent him in a scam last week. No response yet.

Perhaps, we should wind them up, and again, they are most likely reading these posts.

This is an advance payment scam named after the Nigerian penal code 419. Variations have been around for many years. Even when I advertize a notebook or something I get such e-mails.

When in Dubai, i saw some African folks compose such fraud e-mails. At best, you will get overpaid, then this lady will ask you to send the difference by Western Union. Or someone who owes her money will send you a check on her behalf bla bla.

If you can do without your e-mail address, then you could waste her time and have her call you etc. I did that and they opened the spam floodgates.

"Your country" instead of Thailand = these people reply to ads world wide. They ask redundent questions as they have division of labour. When they inquire about a rental, they will ask all the questions your ad answers. How much etc.

And they are always out of the country... Think, who would genuinely avoid staying a few days at a hotel and then go house hunting in person?!?

Don't fall for these scams.
