Yeah, battery life on Iphone is so shit there are several companies marketing power packs for it that clip onto the back--it makes what was a small, slim handheld[ with crap battery-life] into a brick--very high tech!

Anything else on? IE Bluetooth, WIFI? Those figure fit if I leave WIFI on.

Also my experience is to keep using the phone, it lasts a long time on "low" battery, thus in the end being acceptable.

Assume you have done the three cycles: Dischage to fully empty, then full charge (Overnight). I do this on any new item and when the battery seems inefficient. Too much "Topping-up" will destroy a batteries ability to retain charge quite quickly.

HI

I used WI FI for about 1 hour thats all, my Omnia goes for a long time with WI FI on, there most be something wrong here

Guess i have to buy a battery pack if i want to use it all day, thats sucks big time.

I found the old iPhone battery life acceptable, i would get 2-3 days of battery depending on how heavily i used it. The New iPhone 3G however is much worse, i get a day at best with light-moderate usage.

There are several guides on how to optimise your battery life (just google) but things like wifi turned on and heavy screen usage will drain the battery quickly.

I was going to suggest that you get an Omnia but you already have one--why bother with the IPhone??

Hi

I have to say the screen it’s much better on the iPhone, Omnia you cannot see anything in sun light, also i like the programs you can get in iTunes, the touch screen is also better, but i only had this one (iPhone) for a few days so let’s see, i really need a phone there can do everything, but i also want one there can last 1 day without having to charge it, and here iPhone have a problem for sure

Just to add, when I bought my wife an HK unlocked phone in Wanchai the salesman almost insisted I buy a backup battery, as he had to for his "wife".

Like me he had a 2G with no battery problems but it seems the 3G is not as good.

So my wife has a 3G which runs out by the end of the day and a lost battery pack.

My 2G needs charging every two days, but then I dont have any friends. (REF: Wife)

Im using the iPhone v1 as there is not much diff from the 3G.

My batt lasts max 3 - 4hrs with usage of wifi/edge , surfing , checking mails , facebook , playing games.

But now i hardly do any of the above and i only charge my iphone once every 4 days.

Location off , wifi/edge off , screen brightness turned down with auto function off.

The web browser drains the battery like nobody's business, in my experience. Also, the battery might need some time to get broken in / calibrated in a new phone.

My iPhone sometimes - rarely, like once every 2 months - gets hot in my pocket. That's when I know there is some crap running in the background that shouldn't be running and it's going to drain the battery, so I just shut it down and restart the phone.

I CANT flucking believe it... you took every opportunity to tell people NOT to buy the iphone in every single iphone thread for a YEAR and then... you go buy one, hope it is as horrible as you kept telling everyone.

This advise was valid for Ni-cads, but Li-ion's do not get a "memory" so topping up is not a problem.

However, Li-ion's are good for about 1000 charges, so if you charge it daily whether it needs it or not, in 3 years the battery will be toast. This applies to laptop batteries as well. If you normally run your laptop on the mains supply, drain the battery down to 40% remove it and store it in the fridge.

Hi

Have a look, i did say never say never, i still think they can do better, the problem is that i like phones so i buy new all the time, maybe this will only last a few weeks as well, with this battery life well i am not sure.

I am still looking for the perfect phone.

btw this one is better than the first i had, also that i can upgrade and get programs from iTune

Maybe you want to buy it ????

There's only so much physics can do. Just turn down the brightness of the screen. Easy use gives me two days of battery life. I also think signal strength in Thailand is not too good - phones are hunting all the times for signals, even though the signal sign shows best reception.

Abroad, my phone batteries normally last longer.

A bigger issue for me is slight dust under the screen - after 2 weeks ... may have to open up that beauty.
