Help Suggestions / Family Visiting Krabi

Would be greatly appreciative of suggestions for our family visiting Krabi.

Mother, father, child 4 years, mother in law. (4)

Looking for a 5 day full service resort getaway and hoping

for a good deal given the current economic situation.

Bangkok residents, no vacation in two years, need a getaway.

Looking for a resort on the beach, child safe, Ao Nang beach is a bit crowded.

Railay seems, from the net search to be more peaceful. Have never visited Krabi.

Again, would greatly appreciate any Krabi Forum posters or readers suggestions.

Early February visit desired.

Thank you .... Tom Parker, Bangkok

Hi Tom,

check with Centara Krabi, I know they were advertising some "getaway packages", cut rates due to things being slow. They have their own beach, it's a nice place.

Railay peaceful? Not this time of year. Bit of the backpacker party crew, rock climbers, reggae scene, maybe not right for mother-in-law and child. I pop over there for the day sometimes but typically don't stay there.

How about Koh Lanta? The Lanta Casuarina is nice and right on this massive beach. Twin Bay Resort there is also nice. Unique setting and again, stationed on a massive beach, not far from Saladan town where you have great seafood restaurants.

O.K., that's my 2 satangs worth.

Cheers and enjoy.

Sorry Tom, Centara is a bad tip.

In the BKK post today I saw their ad, 8,000thb a night when all of the other Centara's are at 2000-3000.....????

Check Ao Nang Golden Beach Resort and The Best Western at Ao Nang, there are two, check the one that is closest to Ao Nang Beach.

Thanks, yes, I checked. Crazy on the sites. TAT quotes a "Thailand Super Deals" and the sites

quote high season prices. Go figure .... TIT.

They are still hoping to get a season but it is not going to happen. TIT may be in for a rather rude sun-rise as the year progresses.

Thanks again, Tom

My Thai wife's family lives in Krabi so we had a place to stay (next to the 7-Eleven) on the corner. It's a very beautiful place. They had the vegetarian festival when I was there. Every time I walked outside everyone was come see the American. It was quite a site.

Might be helpful if "place to stay" had a name................

Considering the way 7-11's are sprouting up (drives me crazy, they build one on one side of the street and a month later there is one on the other side of the street) you have described 100,000 guest houses.

Also, not to be impolite, but where did you go to school in America? "Every time I walked outside everyone was come see the American." Please donate to that school's English program.
