Thanks for reading my post you lovely people!

:o

I'm here on a double entry visa issued at the Thai Embassy in Los Angeles.

I was here 2 months

Did a visa run

Stayed another 2 months

Then

Did a 30 day extension at the ko Samui immigration office.

Now time is up. But i need 10 - 15 more days in Bangkok.

Anyone got any ideas?

Possible to extend again?

Thank you sincerely!

The most you could extend for would be 7 days if you had a flight ticket out of Thailand within that time.

It looks like a Border Run for you. Exit and come back by land and get a 15 day entry stamp.

You should have extended your 1st entry before you did the border run.

Thanks everyone.

I will try to get a 7 day extension tomorrow.

Does anyone know the closest immigration office - nearest to khao san road?

Also,

I guess my only other option is to go to the Malasian Thai Embassy and get a new visa - correct?

Much love,

You can go to any Thai consulate or go over any border and return to get a 15 day stamp.

Ah Thank you,

I'm curious about why I couldnt enter with a standard 30 day default tourist visa -- if i were to, say, for example, go to cambodia and re-enter Thailand.

Because it is not a Visa. It is a Visa Exempt Stamp. As from last month you only get 15 days if entering Thailand by land. 30 days at an airport.

Of course you can leave Thailand, then enter again and receive a new permission to stay. This won’t be an extension of stay, which you could only get a local immigration office.

If you enter Thailand on a land border without a visa you receive permission to stay for 15 days, if you arrive by air it is 30 days.

Ah thanks everyone so much

I think i understand.

Do you think, if i wanted to stay 30 more days, maybe i could just go to BKK and fly somewhere close like cambodia and just hop on a plane and come right back?

Yes, no problem with that.
