Retirement Visa Extension

Featured Replies

I have read that a Bank Deposit of Bht 800,000

is now required by ALL Retirees.

Has Retiree GrandFathering been abolished?

Does anyone have a Notice they can Quote?

Does anyone who qualified for GrandFathering previosly,

renewed their extension recently and been required

to deposit Bht 800,000

Does one's Income affect the size of the Deposit?

Thanks

Bill

It would really be helpful if you would provide information on the place you "read this". I have not read it and expect many here would have a keen interest.

You can use income in place of deposit shortfalls.

Hi Lop

I read it here a few months back.

Bill

Don't know how I could have missed that (but eyesight not getting any better with age).

The recent "Thai wife" extension of stay did not have any grandfather clause but there was no change to the retirement (long stay) visa this year. AFAIK the same conditions apply for those who were in the system prior to the change to 800k/age 50.

Am sure we would have had posters advising otherwise if it had changed.

There is a lot of dis-information going around.

A good start would be for the police to update their own site.

I checked it yesterday and does not have much correct information in it regarding retirement visa., ages are wrong, bank deposits wrong.

William must have read all retirees who do NOT use any pension income to meet the requirements. I have not seen anything to the contrary.
