Dental Implants

Got my top 2 front teeth knocked out in an accident and want permanant implants.

It's pricey. The cheapest I have been quoted so far is 59k baht per tooth (including fitting/the whole process). That was at a place called Dentaland near Tops on Sukhumvit. I haven't really shopped around but the cheapest my usual dentist do them for is at 75k per tooth. I would like to get them done there because they are really good/clean/great service/etc - can't really afford that price though.

Obviously the brand/manafacturer of the implants determines the price.

Anyway, if anyone knows of anywhere please let me know.

:o

Many dentists do implant work on the side, as it were, these days, but in Thailand there's not that much demand for implants because of the cost so they don't get that much experience working with them, and experience counts for a lot with implants. I'd strongly suggest one of the larger clinics with implant specialists on the staff. Bangkok Hospital Dental Clinic, Thantakit, and Asavanant have implant specialists, for example. The cost will probably not be the cheapest in town, but these are your front teeth, after all.

I had a lot of work done just before Xmas at Promjai dental practice Suk 39, (roughly opposite Emporium). Cheap compared to UK and a nice clean modern well run place. They have a website which may show prices, worth a call just to get a second price to compare.

I was most impressed with them, especially the whole head x ray machine, cool bit of kit :o

Based on my experience you will probably find that your final cost for a dental implant will not necessarily be the quoted price. Every visit you make (in my case 5 or 6 from initial consultation to final tooth) will be billed separately depending on the procedures carried out. I think my final total came to about 65K for one tooth 3 years ago when the advertised price was in fact 70k i.e. less than expected.

Many dentists do implants consultancy but only several places do the real work.

Even a large clinic like BIDC will take you somewhere else. So, those who do the work, do it day in day out, all day long, no lack of experience there.

Yes other dental work is cheap compared to UK, but implants are about the same.

Panoramic x-ray machines are now common place.
