Yes, there is a Chabad House in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Samui. It is run by very religious types but if you actually want to learn about the religion, perhaps you could find someone to talk to you about it. Jews are not interested in actively converting people. Another idea: just google Judaism.

As this thread will without a doubt bring out the antisemites, I want to share a very interesting analysis of the current situation of Israel that has some good objective points of interest to all sides:

Allot seem to visit Ko Samui/Tao areas. There is one of them Juden House thingys (like was blown up in Mumbai recently) in the Khao San Road area I believe. I keep waiting for the Muslims in Thailand to get their act together and do a "Mumbai" on it too.

Plenty on Tong Sala in Koh Pha Ngan. They are a very strong community.

Thongsala, are you kidding me?

Unless they are completely lost or very brave (which I doubt!)

Haad Rin would be more appropriate.

And apparently now, they will be there all year round; since Indian authorities stopped the parties in Goa!

Hopefully, they will never make it to Bali...

learning judaism from just anybody might be not the best idea - the types you most come accross are backpackers and they are very arrogant and nationalistic. The best is to find a reformed synagogue (there are many different straiths in judaism, as there are in the other religions). The orthodocs synagogue might be just not what you are looking for - with their ritualism and dress code you migh find them off putting.

That is probably Chabad. You are a real lovely person.

Most of the Israeli backpackers you see are on their big break after a 3 year army stint. I am sure they are nationalistic but I bet you the vast majority are NOT religious, which reflects Israeli society which is for the most part, NOT religious. So agreed approaching backpackers would be a poor strategy for seeking a spiritual experience, well, the religious kind anyhow.

I really wonder about the people that post comments condoning violence.

really people. i dont know if you talk with such hate enticing words in real life. maybe you do. but its not going to be allowed on this board.

the poster doing so has had his posting right suspended. Im also closing this thread, as I cant see people really having discussions or providing information on this subject without resorting to attacks and hateful remarks.

if anyone has useful info pertaining to the OP's question, PM me and I will see if it can be added to this thread.
