Just wondering if anyone here uses a Dvorak keyboard layout. How long did it take you to switch from qwerty? I have been getting some joint problems so I tried it, and it really does seem to reduce the amount of movement required to type.

Also wondering if it is possible to get a Dvorak keyboard in Thailand. Thinking of ripping an old keyboard apart and manually rearranging the keys...

Can't help you with the Dvorak keyboard, but I have wrist problems and developing stiffness in my fingers that make typing a real pain.

A couple months ago, picked up a Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 at JIB (Zeer) for 650 THB. It works like a charm, and I didn't have to learn a new keyboard layout!!

Give it a shot.

I have an ergonomic keyboard (probably not as good as yours though). But seriously, having experimented with the Dvorak it is significantly more efficient. It's designed so that the most frequently used keys are under the 'resting' position for typing, so you don't need to 'reach' for keys anywhere near as much. Worth a look.

Also good: Dvorak keyboard layouts ship with both Windows and Linux. And rearranging the keys on the keyboard turns out to be ridiculously easy - just gently pop them off with a butter knife and put them back in their new position. 10 minutes of messing around :o
