PHUKET: Long-term Phuket resident Paul James, owner of the Expat Hotel, is in urgent need of O-negative blood. Mr James is at Bangkok Hospital Phuket, but donations of his blood type can only be made at Vachira Phuket Hospital.

Vachira Phuket is located less than two kilometres from Bangkok Hospital Phuket, both being on Yaowarat Road in Phuket City. Donations will be received by Vachira Phuket tomorrow (Sunday, February 1) between 9am and 3pm.

Donors are asked to go to the blood center at Vachira Phuket and state that their donation should be designated specifically for Paul James at Bangkok Hospital Phuket. The two hospitals are in communication with each other in connection with this very urgent case.

if there is a hospital or blood centre there, Bangkok Hospital in Phuket ( i believe ) can pay for the blood to be flown down ...

gosh. so sorry for posting that link that doesnt work. i am not sure whats the go there.

after going through the archives here, i found out that the embassies may have a list of those with rare blood types. its worth a shot i think. i also read that someone with o+ can donate to someone who is o-. not sure if my information is correct or not, but its worth asking at the hospital.

i do hope that Paul gets through this difficult time.
