Air India (in India) is insisting on Issuing a RETURN Ticket

to a holder of a Thai Student Visa (Indian Passport holder)

Is this correct?

I thought a One Way Ticket was acceptable

Yes, the airline should allow the holder of an Indian passport with a non-immigrant visa “ED” to travel with a one-way ticket. Please refer the airline to this website:

After filling in the relevant data, the following information for Indian passport holders will be displayed:

- Those travelling to Thailand with a visa issued prior to

arrival, are permitted to travel on a one-way ticket.
