Postman Soranat Gets 50 Years Jail

Featured Replies

Only 12 months for the same thing in UK.

Postal worker stole to feed online gambling addiction

50 years is simply ridiculous, it shouldn't be handed out, whether the time is actually served or not .

The Criminal Court yesterday sentenced a former postoffice official to 50 years in jail for embezzling nearly Bt300,000.

I am still scratching my head..... :o:D:D

It just leaves you speechless, but TIT.

Ronnie Biggs and Co weren't given those sentences for whacking the train guard, they got them for embarassing the government of the day.

and what would be the punishment for someone who siege an intentional airport?

Being saddled with governing the country?

Hope the same judge is on the bench when Taxin is in front of him.

The rich steal from the poor= fair game? The poor steal from the rich = capital crime.

This concept is enshrined in Thai law and sentencing guidelines. It is called sakdina.

Thanks Briggsy. Whilst living in Thailand one gets a sense of unease about the fairness in many parts of its society,so to explain to me and other expats how this has become accepted is very helpful.

Now, isn't that the punishment for sieging an unintentional airport? I think that is the status of Buriram Airport and possibly Roi-Et. :D

When one takes over an intentional airport one knows that there will be no problem, as it could not have occurred by accident. :o

I must remember this, next time I'm meeting someone at CNX International, as I would definitely not wish to find myself running the country, by accident ! :o

It's the rich what gets the pleasure

It's the poor what gets the blame

It's the same the whole world over

Ain't it all a ruddy shame

It was on the bridge at midnight

flicking blackheads from my crutch

she said "Jack, I've never had it"

I said, "Yeah, not bloody much!"

It's the same the whole world over ... (see last posting for the rest) :o

Amen to that one, squire! :o

Yes making example of the common man whilst letting the serious thief roam around.

On the same scale toxin should only get a couple of million years in custody. :o

Perhaps that's why he's too frightened to return and face up to his misdeeds :D

You got it!
