Hello people, does anybody know if anything has changed regarding burmese people needing a visa to thailand?

Obviously before a visa was needed, but just wondered whether the rules have changed temporarily due to the recent rule changes.

I will be contacting immigration, but am never 100% sure about information i receive over the phone in this part of the world."No problem",could mean a problem.

cheers all.

There have been no change to the rules regarding a visa for Burmese nationals.

You should cotact the Thai embassy there for info. For those from western countries it easy but for a citizen of Burma it could be more difficult. Plus even getting a passport in Burma is a difficult process from what I have read.

Royal Thai Embassy, Yangon

No.94, Pyay Road, Dagon Township Yangon Union of Myanmar

Tel.(951) 222-784,226-721,226-728

Fax.(951) 221-713

E-mail : [email protected]

Visa and Consular Section : Application for Visa/Legalization 09.00-11.30 hrs. Collection of Visa / Legalization 14.00-17.00 hrs.

Hello, with regards to burmese people (were off to thailand again shortly from cambodia),does anybody know if the visa is free.I called into a travel agent tonight as i was curious & she said it is,but i'm wary of "no problem",& i would think that burmese have to go to the embassy?

I'll be contacting the thai embassy, but i'm also concerned about lost in translation.

Thanks for any help. This is what this forum is so valuable for.......rather than "should i finish with my girlfreind?

Tourist visas are free until March. You will have to go the embassy in PP. But plan on it taking at least 2 days to get the visa.
