Hi All,

As title suggest - My Fiance is in the UK on a Fiance Visa. We are to be married in the UK and Honeymoon in Thailand (And go to her village for blessing by monks etc).

My question is once we are married is the fiance visa null and void and therefore have to get a married visa before the honeymoon in Thailand.

Many Thanks

Matt

The visa is valid until it expires, or until it's cancelled. No way will it be cancelled by an Immigration Officer when you've actually done what you were expected to do when the visa was issued, and it's perfectly reasonable to want to go on honeymoon after getting married without having to send off the passport and worry about how quickly your LTR application is going to be processed.

Presumably you will be returning from honeymoon with a few days to spare on the visa so that the application can be made in time.

Many thanks for the prompt reply - Yes when we return we will still have approx 4 weeks left on the visa, hopefully more than enough time to get the Married visa in place.

As long as you are back in the UK and have submitted the FLR application before her fiance visa expires you will be ok.

Once you have submitted the application her current visa will be automatically extended until the applcation has been processed and the decision on her FLR made.
