I am moving from my fully furnished apartment to a townhouse that has nothing, is there a place in CM to buy some of the items I will need, second hand? Also suggestions for good deals on new furniture and appliances welcome. Thanks.

They often have ads by people moving away from Thailand and selling everything.

A few of the churches have their own classified ads for used merchandise. You have to find out the name of the websites and request to sign up for mailings via the internet. I guess if you visit some of the churches and ask you may get some more concrete information. Sorry, I do not have the names of any of the websites.

If you just drive around on the highways you will see many used furniture and appliance shops that sell everything. One in particular is on the 1st Ring Road (not Superhighway) between Highway 1001 and Highway 1006 I believe. We bought desks there, industrial grade pots and pans, all kinds of stuff at good prices - after bargaining of course.
