Latex Trees

Featured Replies

I have about 18 rai I want to put latex trees on. I have been informed by my wife's family that we need to make a pond for irrigation. I suppose this is for the dry season.

How much area should this pond cover?

Also, how much land should be set aside for processing rubber sheets?

Hello

to be honest I wouldn't be digging a dam for 18 rai of rubber unless you were after a supply of fish. A well or bore would be enough, as you should only need the water for the first year or 2. by then the trees should be able to take care of themselves. If the area is so dry that you need to irrigate all the time, I would be looking at something other than rubber.

As for making sheet rubber, for 18 rai 1/2 a rai will be plenty of space for two rollars, a smoking shed and bamboo racks to dry the sheets. Jim

PS heres a vidio I put on you tube. It's a small family run latex factory it should give you a better idea of the area you will need. JIM
