Hi folks. Just a quick request for info. I am looking for a downloadable video or VCD, etc that tells Thai folks about the twin follies of young kids on m/bikes (with no helmets) & young kids in cars (unrestrained or on grannies lap).

The more hard-hitting and graphic the better. Basically saying things along the lines of you can't possibly hold on to them (and prevent them being hurt) in the event of an accident. How seriously they are hurt as a result, how many die, etc.

Has anyone seen such a video/dvd? where can you get them?

I am aware of the long-running thread earlier this year about "why don't thais care about their kids", and I don't want to start another one like that. Just seeking the info so I can get the video and show it to family and friends - am tired of trying to explain & demand again and again. Perhaps something produced here in Thailand & in Thai might sink in better.

Thank you

I don't know where you can get such a video, but I applaud your actions. I've been on a bit of a crusade here - my wife doesn't wear a helmet on her scooter, and her daughter doesn't even own one for her bicycle. Statistics mean nothing. Seeing the graphic results *in person* doesn't seem to shake them. My wife won't make her daughter wear one because she'd 'get laughed at in school.' I've know too many kids back in the States who died from traumatic head injury, so I'm with you. If you get one, please PM me so I can get one as well.
