Do I Need A Reentry Permit?

Featured Replies

I have a 1 year non b multiple entry visa valid until May 1st. My stay is extended by pattaya immigration every 4 months along with my wp. Just extended last week, current stay permitted until July 31st. Going home for a short trip this week. My questions:

1. Assuming dont need a reentry permit cause have a mult ent visa, correct?

2. When I get back on the 14th, will my new entry permit me for 90 days from the 14th(July 14th or so) or July 31st as in my passport?

Thanks!

1. Correct, with a valid multiple-entry Non-Immigrant visa you don't need a re-entry permit.

2. A valid Non-Immigrant visa will get you a 90 day entry stamp from immigration at the airport. Your 90 days starts on the day of arrival.

3. If you have an extension of stay from immigration, you will need a re-entry permit to keep that date valid.

A multi entry visa only allows a 90 day stay - how are you extending that at Pattaya every four months? Immigration has nothing to do with work permits so believe you are talking about a separate action? If you are on an extension of stay from Immigration and want to keep it you need a re-entry permit. Sorry can't be more specific without knowing exactly what you have and are doing.

1. If on extension of stay and want to keep it you need a re-entry permit.

2. If with re-entry permit it will be until July 31. If you really have a valid visa it will be 90 days from day of entry.

Correct, the 4 month extension of stay is granted at immigration, then I sign all the docs, power of attorney etc with the company's lawyer and he extends the wp at the labor dept in Chonburi. But they do give me a 4 month extension of stay each time(I thought that was strange also) but that's what it is.

So I am expect just 90 days then?

Thanks

No. Only available from office that extends you.

So are you saying that you get a WP that is only good for four months at a time, or is the WP good for 1 or more years and you get extended by immigration at a later date to match the WP?

It all soungs a bit odd to me.

EDIT.

Are you still working as a musician?

If so your extensions will be renewed every 4 months as you say.

If so I do not see where the Non B Visa comes into it.
