Work Permit On Immigration O Visa

Recommended Posts

Hi. I recently obtained a multiple Imm 'O' visa (based on marriage), and was wondering how difficult, or possible, it is to apply for a work permit whilst on this visa. I have a job lined up, and they are willing to help out on the red tape side, but is it possible ? Or do i have to revert back to a 'B' and then get it all changed back over to an 'O' later on? I would like to apply for a one year marriage visa but without proof of employment i.e a work permit this won't be possible, and i don't have 400 grand sitting in the bank.

Appreciate any thoughts...

You can obtain a Work Permit with a Non Imm B or a Non Imm O Visa.

So i just inform my new employers that they can start the WP application, and I'm good to go.......sounds too good to be true

It is true.

What you may encounter is that your employer or the agency who is dealing with your work permit is not familiar with this case.

Would they (Labour Dept) require the same paperwork?

If everything is in order, they will first give you a 30 day under consideration stamp. After 30 days you return and they will give you the one year extension (of which you already got 30 days), if they find that you are realy married.
