Anybody been to Hollywood (Ratchada on soi 6). Read some where it has a big stage, sound systems, live bands and singers, lots of people to watch, dancing, light shows. Worth a look?

Been there a few times with Thai friends.

Big place with prox 100-120 tables (2 levels).

Big stage that is extended by a cat walk.

Lot of dancers.

2 set of dancers. Male & female show dancers that perform together with the band. And the regular coyote dancers.

They probably have 6-7 different singers that change all the time, as they change costumes for each song.

Some of the female singers are quite sexy. Veeeeery little clothing on the body.

The bands are fairly good.

When you enter the place you might buy a bottle of scotch before you pay the entrance fee.

Or,

you can order drinks by the table.

Make sure you dont get seated too close to the stage as Thais (among others) like very loud music. It can be an ear splitting experience if you are seated next to the stage.

If you go in the weekend, the place will fill up quite fast, so be early.

Some negatives.

Unfortunately, as with many establishments in the kingdom, maintenance is hardly exisiting, so the place is starting to really look tired.

If you are a non-smoker, dont be surpristed when you see both staff and customers smoking in the restooms.

Especially in the weekends you will see quite a few "farangs" together with their hookers that dragged them to this place.

If you never have been there, its worth an evening, so you can see for yourself.

Thanks - great rundown! We'll give it a try on the next trip.

This place tends to rip off farangs so I'm not surprised...but there is no entrance fee if you buy a bottle. If you buy a bottle of alcohol that is all the fee that needs to be payed, for your entire group. Alternatively you can pay an expensive entrance fee for each person, which they only try to sell to foreigners, and you get a coupon for a drink.

How much is the cover charge? I'm a beer drinker myself. Do I need to buy a six pak to avoid the charge?

How do you recognize the farangs with their hookers from the english teachers with their hi-so thai-chinese gf's ?

Apart from the fact seeing them emerge from her merc in the parking lot... :D

Didn't know this place is open again. I was told few years back it was closed. Obviously not for renovation :o Used to be the place to go some 8 to 10 years ago...

I forget, it's been about a year since I went last. I think it was like 400 baht at the time, with two beers. A bottle of the cheapest whiskey at the time, which got the whole group in free, was I think about 500. They tried to sell me the 500 baht whiskey for 1000 baht once, but when I objected they quickly went back to the real price, so they definitely try to rip off farang there. Was always fun though, huge stage, the dancers are hot, sometimes they have good bands, and there's always a lot of people inside. It wouldn't surprise me though if they try to take advantage even more than they used too.
