Hi all,

I'm 26 years old, I am earning 2000usd/month from a job which requires me to use emails and phones only, therefore I can do this job from anywhere in the world. The company which I am working in isn't Thai.

I have visited Thailand several times and would like to move there permenantly so I wouldn't have to extand my visa every time(I don't mind paying for the visa, just don't want to go outside of the country every time).

I am not planning to work in Thailand, just live there and spend my monthly 2000usd on the most beutiful place on earth :o.

If I need to extand my visa every time that really changes everything, would like to get some info from you guys so I can plan this better.

Thank you so much for your help!

Best rgs,

David.

AFAIK at your age you only have twi visa options:-

Education visa, sign up with a college and learn Thai but I don't know how long you could do this.

or.....

Find a girl and get married, you should make the financial target for a visa.

Otherwise it's back to back tourist visas and hope the rules don't change.

As for whether you should have a work permit regardless of your company's location or source of funds is also open to interpretation.

You can go on using an education visa for 5 maybe 10 years according to the Thai language schools that advertise here on Thai visa look at there ads may be the best solution for you. Anything is possible in Thailand!

An educational visa for Thai language study can be streched out to 5 years. Have a look at the banners of of our forum sponsors for more details. On top of the page.

So it's decided, learning Thai for 5 years :o than see where it leads me.

Can I learn Thai anywhere and get rid of the visa extentions or it must be in Bangkok? (may be a stupid question but you never know...)

Thx alot!

You will have to make visa extensions every 90 days if you study Thai. Yes there are locations other than Bangkok - check the sponsors who advertise here.

If you want to go down this route...don't tell anyone that you are working.

IF YOU ARE WORKING YOU NEED A WP!

Good advice.

Just playing on the computer/internet, if anyone asks.

What does it means to have an extention every 90 days? just to fill some papers (along with the school official document that I am still a student) and put in a box at the immegration office/ have my passport signed same day?

I am interested to live in Phuket/Samui, can I fill the forms there or I need to go to Bangkok every 90 days?

please kindly clerify.

Thx.

What you say, confirm every 90 days you are still a student, with papers from the school. You have to do that at your local immigraiton office, so that would depend on where you would study. For Phuket or Samui, it would be the immigration office there.
