Are you planning to use retirement at 65k per month or 800k in Thai bank account?

Or are you planning to use Thai wife at 40k per month or 400k in Thai bank account?

Different rules and paperwork involved. Retirement is much less paperwork and if you can qualify is what the immigration office will want you to use. It is a one step process and your wife will will not have to report with you each year. I will ask moderator to move this to the visa section where more experts will be able to answer you.

He Pal thanks for the reaction,

not sure what i will do about this, if there's a simple way i will use that one but for the moment i can not have the 800 k for retirement visa

so i think to use the other option, maybe later i can change to retirement visa

if possible can you give me more detail about the paper work or where i can find it

thanks any way

You need. Marriage Certificate. Wife's ID Card and house registration. Letter from your Thai bank showing the balance of 400,000 Baht plus your up to date bank book showing that the money has been there for at least 2 months. Photos of you and your Wife on and around the house. A map to your house. Your passport. Copies of everything. Take the Wife to be interviewed.

You will be given a 30 day under consideration stamp. Go back in 30 days and get the remainder of the extension.

You will have to apply at Nong Khai Immigration Office. They have a reputaion for being awkward so do not be suprised if they want to see something else.

The fee is 1,900 Baht. You will need a passport size photo.
