if you expect thais to treat you with respect and equality whilst you are here, then the lest you can do is behave in a similar fashion.

Fact is I don't expect them anymore from Thais

I can still get "respect and equality" sometimes from some of them but the bare truth is that cheating is "mainstream" in Thai society.

Anyway, I would love to see what would happen if employees had their wages cut for the specific amount not only when they make a mistake in your favor but ALSO when they cheat you at their place of work.

I guess that then I would get my exchange right most of the time without having to openly start to count my money in front of the clerk and then having him/her quickly adding a note or two as "a second thought" with a mute blank stare and no explanation nor apology...
