Hi, I was wondering if any of you know if I could send in my visa application with my family or do i have to send them in seperately (thai embassy in washington D.C) because if i send it in seperately it'd be 17.00 each person, even though we could just send it all in together, since it's a flat rate envalope anyways...... Or is there some sort or rule??

At first,we were just planning to go and get a 30 day visa exempt, then go to laos then get a tourist visa to go back, but i rememeber someone telling me that the airport (or something like that...?) might not let us board if we don't have the proper visa for the 3 months that we're planning to stay.... do you think that we could just go without the tourist visa and get it that way ^ ? or are the chances likely that we'll run into problems without the visa?

Thanks. you guys are awesome :o

I don't know of any rule so would send them together. You should have a visa, especially on a long haul flight. Do you have to mail? There are many honorary Thai Consulates so you might be able to visit to obtain - they also accept mail and will gladly advise you by phone so that might be a better option than Embassy Consulate section.

Suggest you get the visa. The airline could refuse boarding if you don't have a ticket out within 30 days.

A mailed in application according to the DC embassy website takes 10 days to process.

Suggest you use one of the honorary consulates that are on a list you can get by using the pulldown menu at the top of this page on the embassy website. Link: http://www.thaiembdc.org/AboutEmb/EmbDirect.aspx

A single entry tourist visa is free until June 4th. That would give you a 90 day stay by getting a 30 day extension at immigration.

It should not be a problem to mail them in all together. Call which ever consulate you choose to confirm and the return postage charge.
