Birdman
The Thai flag should fly higher than any other. There is nothing wrong with flying your own flag though. There is nothing wrong, but it does not make sense as well. Explain why it does not make sense. Raising a flag demonstrates patriotism and nationalism and a patriot and a nationalist would never live in a foreign country. OK I'd get it if you were referring to a bigoted xenophobe - but there's plenty of evidence they too live overseas, Thailand seems to attract its fair share. Costas2008
On the right hand side of my front gate I have the Greek flag.....on the left hand side the flag of Olympiakos....my football team. Both flags confuse the Thais and I somehow enjoy it. I must make a note to buy a Thai flag in the future................................
JimmyConway
Hello Greece ;-) love your country and your people. (taking it your Greek?) I find it quite funny seeing the Yamaha Fino's that are all over the place with the little national flags flying from either the front or back. Its like a dead giveaway a German bought me this, A Brit bought me this and so on ....

Neeranam
I have heard the most patriotic is the Scottishjing jing? Funny you should say that, i come from a seaside resort in the west of england and when i was young these gangs of jocks ( english for scotsmen ) would come on holiday and get drunk and start shouting and causing general mayhem whilst sing "scotland is the best " etc, i used to wonder if its so good why did they bore themselves with a 12 hour bus ride coming to devon, So did you blow them away with your bagpipe anthem of scotland?... I also have heard, every scottish seems to have a bagpipe I don't ! This is the song that I always sang when drunk. Northern Lights Of Old Aberdeen 1. When I was a lad, a tiny wee lad My mother said to me Come see the Northern Lights my boy They' re bright as they can be She called them the heavenly dancers Merry dancers in the sky I'll never forget, that wonderful sight They made the heav ens bright The Northern Lights of old Aberdeen Mean home sweet home to me The Northern Lights of old Aberdeen Are what I long to see I’ve been a wanderer all of my life Any many a sight I've seen God speed the day when l' m on my way To my home in Aberdeen 2. I've wandered in many far-off lands And travelled many a mile I've missed the folk I cherished most The joy of a friendly smile It warms up the heart of a wand'rer The clasp of a welcoming hand To greet me when, I return Home to my native land Chorus

MiG16
theres an island in Germany (Sylt for the benefit of Germans) where almost every home had at least one flag flying outside it. none are german national flags. I dont think they are football team flags. (might be of the region they come from - different regions in Germany that is). My friend told me something or the other, but I cant remember what it was but wow...never have i been to a place that you see more flags flying around. except maybe outside the UN offices perhaps? still didnt quite figure that one out..... maybe some of our german friends on here will shed some light? The only Western European country, which refrains from EU membership for "patriotic reasons" (Norway for economical reasons) That would be like Colorado would be no part of the US.
