Tourist Visa Extension

Hi I got a double entry visa at vientiane on the 17th march. entered thailand on the 18th, Now by my maths my 60 day,s is up on the 15th may

So what date should i apply for a 30 day extension, and can i do this in bangkok. As i am living in phitsanulok,what with the new rules.

My TV say,s enter before the 16th june 2009, so can make 2nd entry on the 12th as the 13 and 14 june 1migration will be closed.

Or would it be better to enter on the 15th, but would i get fined for oevrstay as the 30 day,s is up on the 13th june. Thanks in advance azzA.

1. You don't do the math - when you entered Thailand they put a stamp in your passport - that is the date you have to leave (or extension of stay will start)>

2. You should apply for extension about a week before the stamp date. You should do at the office where you put your address on the form. If it is a hotel in Bangkok then Bangkok would be fine.

3. Immigration being open or closed does not effect entry into Thailand. The borders are still open.

4. You should make exit before your extension of stay expires. You must then make 2nd entry before the 16th. You can do early, or stay out of country a couple of days if you like.

You can do your extension any time between now and your permit to stay date that is stamped in your passport.

For a tourist visa it does not matter where you do your extension.

It does not matter when you do your extension you will still get 30 days added to your current permit to stay.

If your permit to stay is sooner than your visa experation then you need to leave that day. If your visa experation is first to expire then you need to go out and come back before that date.

Immigration at border crossings are open every day.

OK cheers i found the permited to stay stamp ( 16th may) Two pages back in my passport from the TV !.
