After the recent thread "fried computer tower" and a six hour thunderstorm here (where I unplugged the pc) and phone line.

Is there a decent power surge adaptor I can buy that does really work? One that catches surges on a telephone line (yes, it is possible) ?

I use an APS UPS with power surge and phone line protection. ( we use APS at my work and the technicians told me that APS is one of the best you can have )

My equipment never had any problem but off-course i can't prove this is because of the UPS but for sure it safes my computer when the power drops out again.

unfortunately no surge protector exists on this planet which can prevent potential damage caused by direct lightning strike on the phone line or electricity connection.
