My gf is Akha and has Thai citizen and house papers. She wants to enroll her daughter into school in May. Are there any costs other than books, supplies and uniform? My understanding is that school is free, providing the child was born in Thailand and has house papers. Her friend told her it costs 6,000 baht.

There can be charges for uniforms, shoes, books, excursions (if any) and lunch (optional).

Either way it won't break the bank. :o

Or do an international school, or international/English program at a fancier Thai school. That's more expensive.
