Political Parallels Between Iran And Thailand

the military answers to no one

Not true - otherwise they wouldn't have blamed Prem for the coup.

Also the military seems to be conscious of their own image and following their own standards, which are a lot higher than standards set by politicians.

Despite all the blame - the coup was flawlessly executed, new constitution was written and voted by people, elections held and new government was allowed to run the country, at least until it got fixated on rescuing Thaksin again.

And guess who people were expecting to sort out red rioters in April? Politicians? Police?

Duh.

The army - they are guarantor of sanity and stability here, no one else comes close.

Not true -

Fair enough, educate me. From whom does the most senior military staff take their orders?

Right to the point!

I misunderstood u first. Sorry, dude. ^^

Also, the Thai military actually spoke before that the rural north easterners are tainted with the evil Taksin and need to be re-educated (brainwash) and they are running the heavy campaign for that. For example? the expensive ad "MOSO" or moderate social plastered on some of the BTS skytrains currently. IMHO, what a waste of money!!

5 5 5 Why wouldn't they use the subilimo strategy? .... misspelling.... the hidden messages in songs, jingles

For example, one is not allowed to run for public office without some sort of approval from a religious leader. The higher the position sought, the higher the approving person must sit in the religious hierarchy. T

Iran doesn't forbid religions other than Islam. According to the Iranian Constitution, Jews-Chrisitans and Zoroastrians can freely practice their religion, and they do without fear.

The only public office requiring approval is President. Running for Majlis or City Councils doesn't require any approval from religious authorities.

The first part is true, but the current Ayatollah was the military leader during that period as well. Having all the power of religion, supreme ruler and military under the beck and call of a single man, is pretty scary stuff.

Did you make this stuff up yourself or did someone help you? :)

Khamenei (Current Supreme Leader)was the President of Iran during Mousavi's tenure as Prime Minister. He was not the military leader or the supreme ruler as you claim. The head of the Military at the time was Ayatollah Khomeini(Supreme Leader) who also controlled foreign policy, Internal policy, , control of the Police(Komiteh+Police+Gendarmerie which have since been combined into a single force called the Disciplinary Forces) and controlled the war effort.
