Birmingham University

Featured Replies

I am in the process of looking for a business on koh samui. Last week on our local news a researcher from Birmingham University said that in their opinion another larger earthquake could happen in the indian ocean and this would affect areas as far as Australia. Nothing about this was mentioned in the regional or on sky news I might add. Obviously this in only one persons opinion. My in-laws are absolutely disgusted that we could even think of moving to Thailand, as they have never been and I have not experienced the things we have that make us want to live here so much. This news has obviously made things worse. I have done several searches for up to date research into this possibly happening again and areas that could be affected but I am having difficulty finding what I am looking for.

I fully appreciate that Tsunamis are something that can happen in many areas of the world, but was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to some credible web sites.

Thanks :o

That week also scientists predicted that

perhaps even within 5 years.
